Do you go to beauty schools to get your hair cut? For other salon services?

I got my nails done at a beauty school once and found the whole experience unpleasant and didn’t get the manicure I was after at all. But a couple of my friends get every thing done (waxing, haircuts, manis, pedis) at beauty school for super cheap. They swear everyone’s supervised and so forth, so you’re not going to end up looking ridiculous. It’s cheap. But I have my doubts.

It depends on the beauty school. Go to the ones that prepare their students to work in the higher end salons (they’ll teach precision cutting, for example – the others don’t). They’ll do a much better job.

depending on how applications they will have to do to your hair it being so dark I would say anywhere from $40-65…that is a rough estimate though…you should call a couple of salon and ask their opinion…..hope this helped you in some kind of way….

Beauty majors; where to after beauty school?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Beauty salon school

ive taken up an interest in cosmetology recently and i was wondering, what is your next step after going to beauty school? do you apply for a job at a hair salon? does beauty pay well? all opinions, facts, etc accepted. thankyou

My cousin went to school for cosmetology and while she enjoyed school, it was very hard to make a living afterwards in addition to pleasing the customers. Some people really enjoy what they do though it can take a couple years to ‘get a book’ of regular customers where a steady income can be expected.

One also has to stand on their feet a long time and some hairstylists get back problems and carpal tunnel syndrome (repetitive strain injury) which is a pinched nerve at the wrist from same motion such as cutting hair or blow drying hair. If wanting to go to school for that, please only look into the less expensive schools at the county vo-tech school so that one is not paying back loans for so many years :) Some say that the nail technicians can make more money but then one must be able to tolerate the chemical smell of sculpture and glue which can be toxic and harmful.

Beauty School "Blades"..Any Good?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Beauty salon school

Well i’ve decided to go to beauty school because i love doing hair…has anyone worked at the beauty school/hair salon ‘blades’ because i was considering going there..but i don’t really hear anything about them. If anyone can give me some advice or their opinion of them..i’d really appreciate it :)

all beauty schools teach "state board" (the requirments to get a cert.) so just go for it and if u dont like it u can transfer all ur credits and hours to another school.
